Flourish! A Youth Learning Journey of Climate Resilience and Regeneration

This learning journey was co-designed by young adults for young adults who are concerned about climate change, and looking for caring, creative, grounded, and collaborative ways of engaging with this global emergency.

‘Flourish! A Youth Learning Journey for Climate Resilience & Regeneration’ complements our Youth Climate Circles, and was undertaken with the support of the Emergence Foundation.

This free online learning journey targeted European or Europe-based students, youth activists and young professionals (18-28 years of age) who wish to best respond to climate change, and are curious about climate resilience and regeneration. The learning journey remained open to students, activists and young professionals from all over the globe, and gave access to inspiring stories, impactful tools, and an online community. It aimed to help young people reduce their eco-anxiety as well as limit climate change impacts and ecosystems’ degradation both locally and globally, by inspiring collaborative and regenerative efforts.

The Learning Journey consisted of a series of seven interactive online workshops offered to a global audience from September to early November 2022. The workshops were co-designed with young people and delivered with the support of experts in the fields of eco-psychology, mindfulness, futures literacy, regenerative agriculture, as well as by Indigenous knowledge holders. The workshops were as follows:

  • Opening meeting & launch (Thursday 8 September, 5-6 pm CET)
  • Growing resilience to the unavoidable impacts of climate change (Thursday 15 September, 5-7 pm CET)
  • Envisioning just, biodiverse, climate-positive, climate-resilient and regenerative worlds (Thursday 29 September, 5-7pm CET)
  • Deep-dive : Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures (Thursday 6 October, 5-6pm CET)
  • Staying with the trouble, the interdependency, and the not-knowing, when engaging in climate action (Thursday 13 October, 5-7 pm CET)
  • Nurturing caring relationships, creativity, collaboration, and learning communities (Thursday 27 October, 5-7 pm CET)
  • Closing meeting & celebration (Thursday 3 November, 5-6.30 pm CET)

The workshops featured multiple powerful artworks since One Resilient Earth mobilizes arts as a channel for transformation. In addition, a communication campaign was launched over the summer to raise awareness about the benefits of regenerative resilience. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook.
