Become a Climate Circle Host

‘Become a Climate Circle Host’ is a free online training open to all people with experience in climate change work or activism. Join us on June 11th, 2024, if you want to support the wellbeing of your co-workers, friends and/or fellow community members, as the climate changes.

In 2023, One Resilient Earth recently received a grant from the Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights to provide training and stipends for hosting climate circles, with a focus on climate frontline defenders, particularly women and transgender climate advocates, activists, and professionals. This project came to a close and we are glad to keep on offering the climate circle host training thanks to the support of our community.

We have been hosting online Climate Circles including Youth Climate Circle over the past four years. We are now excited to support others in hosting additional climate circles to meet the needs of various groups, which you can check out here. Climate circles are brave spaces of collective care where participants can openly express the emotions they feel in relation to climate change, among a supportive group of fellow climate workers and activists. Many circle participants have described the experience as ‘immensely needed’ and ‘heart-opening’.

Prior expertise in psychology or mental health is not required to become a climate circle host. It is essentially about presence, empathy, trust, and humility, as well as your own experience with climate change and emotions.

The training sessions are now open to all, so that we can support as many people as possible as they work with their community to protect life and regenerate nature in response to climate change.

Join us on June 11th, from 3-6pm CET to become a climate circle host.

Some feedback from past participants in the training:

‘The hands-on approach allowed me to experience firsthand the value of participating in a climate circle. I also loved the vibe of the training facilitators and felt very welcomed and seen. The slides were great, and the structure helped me to learn the content easily.’

‘The Climate Circle host training was very well organised and I appreciated the practical components. I really appreciated being presented with a different way of being with a group and holding space. It was such an interesting and enlightening experience. I have already recommended it to others.’
